Peter Pihos, known as Pete Pihos, is a former professional football player who started put as a high school football star at Chicago. After his successful high school career, he went to Indiana University where he participated in the football team as part of the defense. He became part of the All-American team because of his remarkable performance
He began his professional career in the 1945 season when he was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles. However, he was not able to play immediately for the team as he was called to render military service for two years. He finally made his National Football League debut in the 1967 season as an Eagle. While with the team, he became a very noteworthy player for the team’s divisional championship title. He helped the team achieve a 21-0 record and Pihos recorded a 31-yard passing touchdown in that season.
Because of his incredible performance as a defensive end, he was named to six All-League and All-Pro games and six Pro-Bowls. He was also inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame and to the prestigious Pro Football Hall of Fame in the 1970 season.

Pete Pihos (fullname: Peter Louis Pihos; no nicknames) played Defensive End from 1950 until 1955 for the Philadelphia Eagles. He played 107 games, intercepted 2 passes and recovered 7 fumbles. Born in Orlando, FL on October 22, 1923, Pihos stands 6'1 and weighs 210 lbs. He attended college at Indiana. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 5th round (41st overall) of the 1945 NFL Draft. Pihos was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1970.
