Peja’s career in basketball started in his early age. He was 16 years of age when he moved to Greece just to be able to play in a professional basketball. He settled with the PAOK BC and spent four seasons with the team. He had recorded averaging points of 23.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 steals. In the 1996 NBA Draft, he was selected by the Kings as the 14th over-all pick in the first round. He played for two years in the NBA All- Star Game, in 2001 to 2002. He reached career highs in his shooting percentage of .484 and his three-point percentage of .416.
Though Peja’s scoring average dropped off slightly in the following year, he again played in the All- Star Game.
