A Serbian basketball player for the New Orleans/ Oklahoma City Hornets in the NBA, Peja Stojakovic, was born in SFR, Yugoslavia on June 9, 1977.

 

Peja’s career in basketball started in his early age. He was 16 years of age when he moved to Greece just to be able to play in a professional basketball. He settled with the PAOK BC and spent four seasons with the team. Though Peja’s scoring average dropped off slightly in the following year, he again played in the All- Star Game.
