Peanuts Lowrey (full name: Harry Lee Lowrey; no nicknames) played outfielder and third baseman from 1942 until 1955 for the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies. He played for the Cubs from 1942 - 1949, Reds from 1949 - 1950, Cardinals from 1950 - 1954 and Phillies in 1955. Over 13 seasons, he played 1401 games, hit 37 home runs, drove in 564 runs, and stole 48 bases. Born on August 27, 1917 in Culver City, CA, Lowrey stood 5' 8" and weighed 170 lb. He attended Hamilton (Los Angeles, CA) high school. His debut was on April 14, 1942 and he played his final game on August 30, 1955.
