Patrick Willis was born on January 25, 1985 in Bruceton, Tennessee. He is a professional football player and currently the linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League. Patrick was drafted as the 11th overall in the 2007 NFL Draft.
He played his college football at the University of Mississippi. As a freshman, he received the Scholar-Athlete Award from the Ole Miss Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame. During his sophomore year he earned honorable mention All-Southeastern Conference Honors. At his senior year, Patrick was awarded with SEC Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-SEC, and First Team All-American. He also received the Jack Lambert Award and the prestigious Dick Butkus Award given to the most outstanding linebacker in College Football.
At 2007 Willis turned pro and impressed scouts with his marvelous performance. He made a 4.49 40-yard dash which was one of the fastest among linebackers. After the management of the San Francisco 49ers saw his athletic performance, they drafted Willis and signed him for a five-year contract worth $ 16.7 million. In 2008 he scored his first career touchdown in the NFL. Patrick was named as the 2009 NFL Alumni Linebacker of The Year chosen by the Alumni professional players. On May 4, 2010 he signed a five-year contract extension worth $50 Million with $29 Million guaranteed money.
