Oscar Grimes (full name: Oscar Ray Grimes Jr.; no nicknames) played third baseman, second baseman and first baseman from 1938 until 1946 for the Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees and Philadelphia Athletics. He played for the Indians from 1938 - 1942, Yankees from 1943 - 1946 and Athletics in 1946. Over 9 seasons, he played 602 games, hit 18 home runs, drove in 235 runs, and stole 30 bases. Born on April 13, 1915 in Minerva, OH (All Transactions), Grimes stood 5' 11" and weighed 178 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on September 28, 1938 and he played his final game on September 25, 1946. Common misspellings of his name include Oscar Ray (Jr.) Jr. Oscar Grimes.
