Orlando Vernada Woolridge, a veteran of 13 NBA seasons and a former professional basketball player in the NBA. He was born December 16, 1959 in Bernice, Louisiana known as “The Pelican State”. During Orlando Vernada Woolridge's early years he played at the University of Notre Dame and had Bill Laimbeer as one his teammate.

 

Orlando Woolridge played for Chicago Bulls during his first five seasons together with his rookie teammate Michael Jordan. Surprisingly he decided to move on to the New Jersey Nets for the next season and had an average of 20.7 points / game. After almost playing 20 games for New Jersey Nets he was suspended the league for violating its policy and was arrested at Chatsworth Motel while he was under the influence of a prohibited drug. All in all Orlando Woolridge played for six different NBA teams, which includes the Lakers for two years in late 80’s.

 

Years later he signed up and played for Benetton Treviso in Europe Italy and was awarded different awards such as the “European Cup and Italian Cup” under Mike D'Antoni for two consecutive years and eventually won “Buckler Bologna of 1995 – 1996” an Italian Supercup.

Orlando Woolridge (full name: Orlando Vernada Woolridge; no nicknames) played Forward from 1982 until 1994 for the Chicago Bulls, New Jersey Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers. Over 13 seasons, he played 851 games, scored 13623 points (16.0 ppg) and grabbed 3696 rebounds (4.3 rpg). Woolridge also dished out 1609 assists (1.9 apg), made 553 steals (0.6 spg), and blocked 569 shots (0.7 bpg) during his career. Born in Bernice, Louisiana on December 16, 1959, Woolridge stands 6-9 and weighs 215 lbs. He attended high school at Mansfield in Mansfield, Louisiana and college at University of Notre Dame. He was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the 1st round (6th pick, 6th overall) of the 1981 NBA draft.
