Orlando Hernandez Pedroso, a professional baseball player, was born on October 11, 1969 in Villa Clara, Cuba. He appeared in the Major League Baseball as a starting pitcher for a number of teams. Before making it in the major league, he played in the Cuban National Series for the Havana team, Industriales. He also represented the Cuban national team in the 1992 Olympics held in Barcelona where his team bagged the gold medal.
He entered the league in 1998 for the New York Yankees with which he had his best year. Hernandez’s first MLB appearance was on June 3, 1998 for the Yankees. According to reviews, he made a very impressive 1999 season as he set a 17-9 record and 157 strikeouts with 214.1 innings pitched. He played his final MLB game on September 30, 2007 for the Mets.
