Nolan Ryan is a former American baseball player in the Major League Baseball and is currently the President of the Texas Rangers in the major leagues. He was born in Refugio, Texas. Ryan pitched for several teams in the major league; the New York Mets, California Angels, Houston Astros and the Texas Rangers.

He was listed at 6 ft. 2 in. and 170 lbs. playing as pitcher, Ryan threw and batted right handed. Ryan turned professional after being drafted on June 8, 1965 by the New York Mets in the twelfth round during the 1965 amateur draft and made his professional debut a year later on September 11, 1966. After playing for seven seasons with the Mets, Ryan, along with Don Rose and Francisco Estrada, were dealt to Jim Fregosi of the California Angels on December 10, 1971. In Ryan’s first season with the Angels, Ryan had regularly started as pitcher for the first time in his career since being drafted by the Mets. After the 1979 seasons, Ryan signed a free agent contract with the Houston Astros. After the 1988 seasons, a contract dispute arises, and Ryan left the Astros to join the Texas Rangers. Ryan’s last game with the Rangers was on September 22, 1993.
