For Neil William Rackers, football has been carved for him back during his high school days at the Aquinas-Mercy High Schools in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a letterman or a varsity athlete in football, baseball and soccer. He was successful in his three chosen sports paths as a letterman for two years and was one of the All-Conference selection in football. He made it to the All-State selection and led his team to win consecutive titles in soccer. He also made it to the All-Conference selection in baseball. He kept playing football during college in Illinois.
Born in Florissant, Missouri on August 16, 1976, Rackers is known as a placekicker in the National Football League playing for Houston Texans. He emerged into the football scene after the Cincinnati Bengals drafted him for the 2000 NFL Draft during the sixth round.
Rackers created an NFL record for kicking his 40th field goal for the season in January 1, 2006. As a reward, he got to play in the 2006 Pro Bowl, and was named by ESPN.com as the Most Valuable Fantasy Football Kicker of 2005. Rackers also got a chance to play for the Arizona Cardinals. On April 5, 2010, Houston Texans signed him up. Racker’s parents are Richard and Mary Kay. He and his wife Rachel have a son named Jacob.
