About Ned Yost:
Ned Yost (full name: Edgar Frederick Yost; no nicknames) played catcher from 1980 until 1985 for the Milwaukee Brewers, Texas Rangers and Montreal Expos. He played for the Brewers from 1980 - 1983, Rangers in 1984 and Expos in 1985. Over 6 seasons, he played 219 games, hit 16 home runs, drove in 54 runs, and stole 5 bases. Born on August 19, 1954 in Eureka, CA, Yost stands 6' 1" and weighs 190 lb. He attended high school and was drafted by the New York Mets in the 1st round (7th pick) of the 1974 amateur draft (June Secondary). His debut was on April 12, 1980 and he played his final game on October 6, 1985. Common misspellings of his name include Edgar Frederick Ned Yost.
