About Muhammad Ali Autographed Memorabilia & Collectibles
Born as Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr. on January 17, 1942, Muhammad Ali is a retired boxer that has been a World Heavyweight Champion for three times. He is also widely regarded as the one of the all-time greatest heavyweight championship boxers in the world. Ali, as an amateur boxer, was able to take home a gold medal for the division of light heavyweight during the 1960 Summer Olympics which was held in Rome. After he became a professional boxer, he became the first ever boxer to have won the lineal heavyweight championship for three times.
Originally Cassius Clay, Ali altered his name in 1964 after he has joined the Nation of Islam. In 1975, he has converted to Sunni Islam and just recently, to Sufism. Ali refused to be part of the US military in 1967 because of his religious oppositions and beliefs about the Vietnam War. After it, he was arrested and was also found guilty on charges of draft evasion. This stripped Ali of his boxing title and even his license in boxing was also suspended.
Known by all boxing fans as the “The Greatest,” Ali has been a part of several boxing matches which have made history and three of these were with his tough competitor Joe Frazier. He might be retired now but his name will continue to be part of the boxing history so those fans of Ali must grab the chance now of owning his memorabilia items and collectibles. There are also those which are from Mike Tyson and of course, the “People’s Champ,” Manny Pacquiao.
Despite his popularity, there are still instances when his name is misspelled as Muhamad Ali, Muhhamad Ali, Muhammadd Ali, Mohamad Ali, Muhammad Alli, Muhammad Alie and Muhammad Allie.
