Mort Cooper (full name: Morton Cecil Cooper; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1938 until 1949 for the St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Braves, New York Giants and Chicago Cubs. He played for the Cardinals from 1938 - 1945, Braves from 1945 - 1947, Giants in 1947 and Cubs in 1949. Over 11 seasons, he started 239 games, won 128 games, struck out 913 batters, and had a 2.97 ERA. Born on March 2, 1913 in Atherton, MO, Cooper stood 6' 2" and weighed 210 lb.
