About Monty Williams Memorabilia & Collectibles

Monty Williams is a former American pro basketball athlete and is currently the head coach of the New Orleans Hornets in the National Basketball Association. He was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia and took his college education at the University of Notre Dame where he was also notable for playing college basketball. Despite of a pre-existing heart condition, as sources say, Williams began his pro basketball career when he was drafted by the New York Knicks during the 1994 NBA Draft where he was a first round and twenty fourth overall pick of the team.

Williams played for two years for the Knicks before he joined the San Antonio Spurs in 1996 up to 1998. During his stint with the Spurs, Williams got a career high of thirty points in their game against the Denver Nuggets on April 1997. Williams was then acquired by the Nuggets before the start of the 1998 seasons. Williams spent the following 2009 season with the Nuggets before joining the Orlando Magic until 2002. Before his retirement, Williams joined the Philadelphia 76ers and had his last season in 2003.

Two years after retiring from his playing career, Williams was hired Nate McMillan in 2005 as assistant coach for the Portland Trail Blazers. But on June 2010, Williams was offered a three-year contract to be the head coach of the Hornets.

Consider those games made by your favorite basketball players through NBA trading cards and tickets. Autographed NBA magazines and books that feature your favorite players are also ideal to decorate your bookshelf.
