Mitchell Richmond, more popularly known as Mitch Richmond is a former National Basketball Association player who had a stellar college basketball career at Kansas State University. As a player in the said school, he logged an average of 20 PPG and then moved to the Moberly Junior College. According to sources, Richmond also played in the Olympic Games in Seoul before having his National Basketball Association career. He was a pick of the Golden State Warriors in the National Basketball Association draft in 1988. Because of his great performance during his first year in the league, he was named as the NBA Rookie of the Year. After a few great seasons with the Golden State Warriors, he joined the Sacramento Kings which signed him in 1991. He became the team’s top scorer in his entire seven seasons with them. He was part of the All-Star team on the Western Conference where he bagged the Most Valuable Player award. He was also chosen to became part of the Olympic team of the United States which competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
After a celebrated stint with the Kings, he joined the Washington Wizards and spent his final season in the National Basketball Association with the Los Angeles Lakers. He logged 21.0 PPG in his fourteen-year career and had played 976 games in the league.

Mitch Richmond (full name: Mitchell James Richmond III; Mitch, Rock) played Guard from 1989 until 2002 for the Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Lakers. Over 14 seasons, he played 976 games, scored 20497 points (21.0 ppg) and grabbed 3801 rebounds (3.9 rpg). Richmond also dished out 3398 assists (3.5 apg), made 1211 steals (1.2 spg), and blocked 254 shots (0.3 bpg) during his career. Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on June 30, 1965, Richmond stands 6-5 and weighs 215 lbs. He attended high school at Boyd Anderson in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and college at Kansas State University. He was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the 1st round (5th pick, 5th overall) of the 1988 NBA draft.
