Mike Williams is an American pro football athlete who hails from Tampa, Florida and is currently playing as wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League, and also played for a few other teams; the Detroit Lions, Oakland Raiders and the Tennessee Titans. Williams took his college education attending University of Southern California where he was noteworthy during his college football career being named All-American First-Team choice by The Sporting News during his freshman years.
Having completed his sophomore year, Williams made the decision to declare for the 2004 NFL Draft. He then began playing pro football after he was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. During his rookie season in 2005, Williams participated in fourteen games starting four of them. Also during that season, Williams recorded his first touchdown catch in his NFL debut in their season opener versus the Green Bay Packers.
Williams was traded to the Oakland Raiders along with teammate Josh McCown during the very first day of the 2007 NFL Draft. Williams spent only seven months with the Raiders until on November 22, 2007 when he signed with the Tennessee Titans and was then released on July 31 2008. After spending two years out of football, Williams signed with the Seattle Seahawks on April 15, 2010.
