A former linebacker in American football, Michael Singletary was born in Houston Texas on October 9, 1958.

 

In the All-SWC Team of the 1970s, he was the only college junior that was chosen. Starring in college at Baylor University he played his entire career for the Chicago Bears in the NFL. He achieved the average of 16 tackles per game and established a team record with 232 tackles. In 1978, he earned the honor of the All-America honor in both junior and senior years at Baylor. Singletary then became the starter in the Bears in 1981. He was in the team’s line up in the seventh game of his rookie season. In the season of 1985 he led the Bears to a magnificent 15-1. He recorded 109 solo tackles, 3 sacks, 1 interception, 3 fumble recoveries, 1 forced fumble and 10 defended passes in 1985 season.  He had his best personal-performance in 1990 when he recorded 10 solo tackles and 10 assists. He was the All NFC every year from 1983-1991. He then became the linebackers coach for the Baltimore Ravens in 2003. As of 2007, he was one of the possible lists of candidates for NFL head coaching jobs.
