A baseball catcher of the Milwaukee Brewers, Michael Rene Rivera was born in Rio Piedras in Puerto Rico. The Detroit Tigers signed him as a free agent and began playing in the Rookie League in the years he was in Troy State University. His first debut in the Major League was with the Detroit Tigers against the Minnesota Twins on the 18th of September 2001. He got his first ever home run on a game against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He was swapped for Gene Kingsale to the San Diego Padres on the 15th of November 2002. He also played with the Chicago White Sox and the Oakland Athletics. Aside from that he has also signed with the New York Yankees and the Florida Marlins in the minor league and with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He went back and signed again with the Milwaukee Brewers as a minor league in 2011. Mike Rivera has posted a batting average of .238, 13 home runs and sixty nine runs batted in from the time he joined up to the 2010 season.
