Micahel “Mike” Ribeiro came from a Portuguese ancestry who was born on February 10, 1980 in Montreal, Quebec. This 30-year old Canadian ice hockey player is presently playing for the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League. He stands 6 feet (1.83m) in height and 178 pounds (81kg) by weight. He shoots left and takes the position as centre in playing hockey and was once played for the Montreal Canadiens. Mike Ribeiro was drafted on the 45th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in NHL Entry Draft in 1998.
During his game career in 1997 to 1998, he has awards for All-Rookie Team, Second All-Star Team and got the Michel Bergeron Trophy, all in QMJHL. His perseverance and dedication for playing ice hockey inspired him to have the awards for First All-Star Team and the Jean Beliveau Trophy by QMJHL in 1998 and 1999. His First All-Star Team and Leading Scorer award came from CHL in 1998 and 1999 too.
Continuing on playing the game in the 20th century, the Montreal Canadiens traded Ribeiro to the Dallas Texas on September 30, 2006.He led the Dallas in the season of 2006-07 and signed a 1-year contract on July 12, for the season of 2007-08. He earned his first NHL All star game appearance after he signed a 5-year contract with the Dallas during the season of 2007-08. He got the YoungStars Game award by NHL in 2001-02 and the All-Star by NHL in 2007-08. He was noticed for his creative style in playing, with between-the-leg passes, patient puck-handling and his ability to set up other players in the game.
