 Mike Proly was a former professional baseball player who hailed from Jamaica, New York. He played as a pitcher for a few teams in the Major League Baseball. Before he was able to play in the major league, he spent a number of seasons in the minor leagues. He had his college education at St. John’s University where he also had a notable college baseball career. According to sources, he was one of the best players in the said university.

 

Proly batted and threw with his right hand and was listed at 6 ft. and 185 lbs. He started in the Major League Baseball after he was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1972. He was a ninth round pick of the team in the Major League Baseball amateur draft. He formally signed with the Cardinals on June 10, 1972. After a few stints in the minor league, he had his Major League Baseball debut on April 10, 1976. After his period with the Cardinals, he joined the Chicago White Sox and the Philadelphia Phillies. His last team in the Major League Baseball was the Chicago Cubs. He had his last game in the Major League Baseball on October 2, 1983.

He played for the Cardinals in 1976, White Sox from 1978 - 1980, Phillies in 1981 and Cubs from 1982 - 1983. Over 7 seasons, he started 18 games, won 22 games, struck out 185 batters, and had a 3.23 ERA. Born on December 15, 1950 in Jamaica, NY, Proly stands 6' 0" and weighs 185 lb. He attended Chaminade (Mineola, NY) high school and was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 9th round of the 1972 amateur draft.
