About Mike Piazza Memorabilia & Collectibles
Michael Piazza was a famous former player in the Major League Baseball who spent his childhood years at Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. He was a Hall of Famer in the Phoenix Area High School where he exhibited his superb baseball skills. He began his professional career in 1988 after he was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 62nd round of the Major League Baseball amateur draft in that year. His debut season in the Major League Baseball was in 1992. Although he originally served as a first baseman, he was trained to be a catcher for the Dodgers. He played 21 games in his first year as a professional and was given the Rookie of the Year award in the Major League Baseball.
He gathered the second highest number of votes in the Most Valuable Player voting in the 1997 season, which, according to reviews, was his best season in the league as well. In that year, he posted a record of .364 batting average and made 40 home runs, with runs batted in of 124.
After six colorful seasons with the Dodgers, he went to play for the Florida Marlins. He also appeared in a few games for the New York Mets and the San Diego Padres. His last Major League Baseball team was the Oakland Athletics.
