Mike Newlin (full name: Michael F. Newlin; Mike) played Guard-Forward from 1972 until 1982 for the Houston Rockets, New Jersey Nets and New York Knickerbockers. Over 11 seasons, he played 837 games, scored 12507 points (14.9 ppg) and grabbed 2494 rebounds (3.0 rpg). Newlin also dished out 3364 assists (4.0 apg), made 702 steals (0.8 spg), and blocked 58 shots (0.1 bpg) during his career. Born in Portland, Oregon on January 2, 1949, Newlin stands 6-4 and weighs 200 lbs. He attended high school at Saint Francis in LaCanada, California and college at University of Utah. He was drafted by the Houston Rockets in the 2nd round (7th pick, 24th overall) of the 1971 NBA draft.
