Norman Michael Hershberger, a retired professional baseball player, was born on October 9, 1939 in Massillon Ohio. Popularly known as Mike Hershberger, he played as an outfielder in college and appeared in the Major Baseball League as well. He became part of a number of Major Baseball League teams. His first was the Chicago White Sox which drafted him in 1961. He played for the White Sox until 1964.
In 1965, he was traded to the Kansas City/Oakland Athletics which he played for until 1969. According to reviews, he was a skillful outfielder who impressed his fans with his great plays. After his four-year stint with the Athletics, he moved to the Seattle Pilots in 1970. However, Hershberger managed to spend only one year with the team as he was traded once again to the Milwaukee Brewers. He spent his last few seasons in the major league with the Brewers.
His eleven-season career was finished with 1,150 games played and 3,752 at bats. Baseball enthusiasts known him for his tough arm which helped him deliver wonderful throws. He had 900 hits, 26 home runs, and .328 slugging percentage. He was able to post a record of 344 runs batted in and 319 walks with 74 stolen bases and 1,172 bases in his entire career.
