 Mike Hartman is a former professional ice hockey player. He was born in Detroit, Michigan and has played in the National Hockey League as well as in international competitions. Hartman was active in the NHL from 1986 to 2004. He became eligible to join the NHL Entry Draft in 1986 and was made the 131st overall pick by the Buffalo Sabres. Before being able to play professionally, Hartman was part of the junior hockey team of the Belleville Bulls. He also played for the North Bay Centennials of the OHL and was able to come up with 102 points after playing 138 games.

 

Hartman played as a left wing for the Buffalo Sabres starting the 1988 season although he did split time between playing in the NHL and the AHL from 1986. He was an aggressive player and was awarded 316 penalty minutes in that season alone. The next season would be one of his best after he was able to come up with 11 goals and 10 assists but was still racked up 211 penalty minutes.

 

After playing for three full seasons for Buffalo, Hartman was traded to the Winnepeg Jets. He stayed with the Jets for one season before being traded to the New York Rangers in exchange for Randy Gilhen.

He played for the Sabres from 1987 - 1991, Jets in 1992, Lightning in 1993 and Rangers from 1993 - 1995. Over 9 seasons, he played 397 games, scored 43 goals, and made 35 assists. Born in Detroit, Michigan on February 7, 1967, Hartman stands 6-0 and weighs 190 lbs. He was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 7th round (131st overall) of the 1986 NHL Entry Draft.
