A mainstay analyst for ESPN, Mike Golic is a former professional football player. He is a reporter for the Sunday NFL Countdown and different college football game coverages. He is also a commentator for the Arena Football League and is the host of the The Lighter Side of Sports. 

Golic is the younger brother of Bob Golic who also played in the NFL. Bob went to the University of Notre Dame where he played for the Fighting Irish just like his brother. During his senior year, Golic was made the team captain of the university’s football team.  After finishing a degree in finance and management, Golic went on to participate in the 1985 NFL Draft. He was picked by theHouston Oilers and he proceeded to make his NFL debut in the 1986 season. He played for the Oilers for a season and then signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1987. He stayed with the team until 1992 and then signed with the Miami Dolphins in 1993. 

He played for a total of nine years in the NFL and occupied the position of defensive lineman. Golic appears as one of the characters in the All-Pro Football 2K8, a PS3 and Xbox 360 game by EA Sports.
