Michael Lockett Garrett was born on April 12, 1944 in Los Angeles, California. He was an American collegiate player who later went on to be a professional football player and is currently the USC athletic director. He was a two-time All-American and has set various NCAA, USC and Pac 10 Conference records by his incredible 3,221 yards and 30 touchdowns.
Awarded as an outstanding football player in the Pacific Coast, he was given the W.J. Voit Memorial Trophy in 1965 and the Heisman Trophy after the regular season of 1965. According to sources, Garrett also became a College Football Hall of Famer in 1985.
He joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 1966-1969 and transferred in 1970 to the NFL Chiefs. A two-time AFL All Star (1966 and 1977), he played in the first ever AFL World Championship Game for the Chiefs, according to sources.
Reviews say Garrett also managed to win a World Championship Ring in the AFL-NFL World Championship Game and became a leading rusher with 39 yards and catching 2 passess for 25 yards. For his 8 seasons, he rushed for 5,481 yards, 238 passes for 2,010 yards and 39 punts for 235 yards. In 1970-1972, he also played for the team San Diego Chargers.
