Canadian Mike Foligno is a retired professional hockey player. He played for the National Hockey League from 1979-80 and 1993-94. He is currently the Sudbury Wolves’ general manager. The Wolves plays in the Ontario Hockey League.
Foligno initially trained to became a soccer player during his younger years spent in Italy. His family moved back to Canada when he was 10 and it was then when he picked up his passion for playing hockey. He started his professional career when he was picked by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft.
Foligno’s breakout year would be in the 1985 season when he played for the Buffalo Sabres. He would be able to make 41 goals and 80 points. Foligno is best known for the signature leap that he makes after he makes a goal. Fans have named it the “Foligno Leap”.
By the end of his NHL career in 1994, Foligni posted 355 goals and 372 assists for 727 points.

Born in Sudbury, Ontario on January 29, 1959, Foligno stands 6-2 and weighs 195 lbs. He was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1st round (3rd overall) of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft.
