Over 14 seasons, he started 307 games, won 137 games, struck out 939 batters, and had a 3.81 ERA. Born on January 22, 1949 in Tarboro, NC, Caldwell stands 6' 0" and weighs 185 lb. He attended high school and was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 12th round of the 1971 amateur draft. His debut was on September 4, 1971 and he played his final game on September 25, 1984.
