About Mickey Hatcher Memorabilia & Collectibles
Michael Vaughn Hatcher, known as Mickey Hatcher, was born on March 15, 1955 in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a retired professional baseball player who appeared on the league for the first time on August 3, 1979 for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was known as a jolly player who always had a funny way of dealing with the games but is an excellent infielder, outfielder and a designated hitter as well. He became famous among the media men in the 1988 World Series when he hit a home run from the first inning and sprinted at top speed instead of running around the bases. He did not just manage to hit one home run that season, but had two for the said World Series in 1988. He has a career record of .280 batting average and 946 hits with 375 runs batted in. He also played for the Minnesota Twins from 1981-1986.
After his last MLB appearance on October 3, 1990 for the Los Angeles Dodgers, he went to coaching. At present, he coaches the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim which won the World Series championship in 2002 and is presently managed by Mike Scioscia. Sciosca is coincidentally a teammate of Hatcher in the Los Angeles 1988 World Championship team.
