Michael Devin Griffin is a professional football player who hails from Austin, Texas. Born on January 4, 1985, he is a former player for Bowie High School where he attended high school as a running and defensive back. He achieved 2,127 yards rushed and 23.4 yards in one catch in the last two seasons of his high school career which made him included in the honorable mention in All-State honors.
In college, he went to University of Texas and began playing football for the said university in 2003. He was chosen for the All-Big 12 in his junior year and played a big role in helping his team win the Rose Bowl National Championship. He played a total of 37 games from 2003 to 2006 and made a university record of most number of blocked punts with six.
He began playing for the National Football League in 2007 when he was included to the Tennessee Titans. He was picked as 19th overall in the 2007 NFL Draft. He plays as a safety for the team and recorded 3 interceptions, 54 tackles and a forced fumble in his beginning season. Many football fans were amazed with his very good first season although some questioned his selection to the NFL. In 2008, he was chosen for the Pro Bowl.
