Michael Bennett was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 13, 1978.
He was the top football in the state in his high school career. He attended Milwaukee Tech High School and had achieved early accomplishments in football. In his senior year, he was also the All- State selection. Bennett had able to set records in the 1998 state track meet and attained 100-meter and 200 meter dashes. In his college years, he was a known football player and a sprinter in track. Bennett was a back-up to Ron Dayne for two years and scored ten touchdowns and had able to rushed for 1,592 yards. He also placed a good score in a 200 meter dash competition in his junior years.
His NFL career started in 2001 when he was selected in the 2001 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. In his first year as a Rookie, Blount had already received a good sign of his way to the Pro Bowl. He added 351 yards from the 1,296 yards that he rushed. After being released from the Vikings in the 2005 season, Bennett was signed in by the New Orleans Saints. He was the back-up to Deuce McAllister. He was also the back-up to Larry Johnson of the Kansas City Chiefs.
