Merv Shea (full name: Mervyn John Shea; no nicknames) played catcher from 1933 until 1944 for the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Browns, Chicago White Sox, Brooklyn Dodgers, Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Blue Jays. He played for the Red Sox in 1933, Browns in 1933, White Sox from 1934 - 1937, Dodgers in 1938, Tigers in 1939 and Blue Jays in 1944. Over 11 seasons, he played 439 games, hit 5 home runs, drove in 105 runs, and stole 8 bases. Born on September 5, 1900 in San Francisco, CA (All Transactions), Shea stood 5' 11" and weighed 175 lb.
