Mehmet Okur (full name: Mehmet Okur; no nicknames) plays Forward-Center for the Utah Jazz. During his career, he has played 604 games, scored 8367 points (13.9 ppg) and grabbed 4325 rebounds (7.2 rpg). Okur also dished out 1040 assists (1.7 apg), made 316 steals (0.5 spg), and blocked 444 shots (0.7 bpg). Born in Yalova, Turkey on May 26, 1979, Okur stands 6-11 and weighs 249 lbs. He attended high school at Cem Sultan in Gazcilar Bursa, Turkey. He was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in the 2nd round (9th pick, 37th overall) of the 2001 NBA draft.
