Max West (full name: Max Edward West; no nicknames) played outfielder and first baseman from 1938 until 1948 for the Boston Bees, Boston Braves, Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for the Bees from 1938 - 1940, Braves from 1941 - 1946, Reds in 1946 and Pirates in 1948. Over 7 seasons, he played 824 games, hit 77 home runs, drove in 338 runs, and stole 19 bases. Born on November 28, 1916 in Dexter, MO, West stood 6' 1" and weighed 182 lb. He attended Alhambra (Alhambra, CA) (All Transactions) high school. His debut was on April 19, 1938 and he played his final game on October 1, 1948. Common misspellings of his name include Max Edward Max West.
