He played for the Indians from 1962 - 1969 and Brewers in 1970. Over 9 seasons, he played 1013 games, hit 111 home runs, drove in 421 runs, and stole 43 bases. Born on February 2, 1938 in Jasper, TX, Alvis stands 5' 11" and weighs 185 lb. He attended Jasper (Jasper, TX) high school. His debut was on September 11, 1962 and he played his final game on September 27, 1970. Over his career, Alvis made $47,000. Common misspellings of his name include Roy Max Maxwell Alvis.
