Mattias Timander (full name: Mattias Timander; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1997 until 2004 for the Boston Bruins, Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Islanders and Philadelphia Flyers. He played for the Bruins from 1997 - 2000, Blue Jackets from 2001 - 2002, Islanders from 2003 - 2004 and Flyers in 2004. Over 8 seasons, he played 419 games, scored 13 goals, and made 57 assists. Born in Solleftea, Sweden on April 16, 1974, Timander stands 6-2 and weighs 230 lbs. He was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 9th round (208th overall) of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft.
