 Matthew Alan Perisho is a left-handed batter and pitcher who possess the ability to maneuver a changeup if necessary such as while playing with right-handed batters. Perisho was born in Burlington, Iowa on June 8, 1975. He played as a former pitcher for the Major League Baseball but presently, he is playing for the Brother Elephants for Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League where he signed up following the end of the Mexican League season.

 

Perisho played in the Triple-A Mexican League for Tecolotes de Nuevo Laredo in 2008. Known for being a good slider and for throwing low-90s fastball, Perisho's career peaked in 2004 as he played for the Florida Marlins where he posted 10 holds and a 5-3 record in 47.0 innings. As a left-handed hitter, he batted an average of .207 that year.

 

Perisho's career began when the California Angles drafted him in 1993, but he made his debut in May 27, 1997. He signed up for different teams including the Marlins, Rangers, Angels,Tigers, and the Red Sox team from 1997 to 2005. His final game was on September 2, 2005. The 6 foot, 200-pound Perisho finished his high school at McClintock, Tempe, Arizona. He now lives in Chandler, Arizona with wife Jennifer, son Ryan Matthew and daughter Ashlee Marie.

He played for the Angels in 1997, Rangers from 1998 - 2000, Tigers from 2001 - 2002, Marlins from 2004 - 2005 and Red Sox in 2005. Over 8 seasons, he started 28 games, won 11 games, struck out 202 batters, and had a 6.39 ERA. Born on June 8, 1975 in Burlington, IA, Perisho stands 6' 0" and weighs 200 lb. He attended McClintock (Tempe, AZ) high school and was drafted by the California Angels in the 3rd round of the 1993 amateur draft.
