Matt Mantei (full name: Matthew Bruce Mantei; The Ice Man) played pitcher from 1995 until 2005 for the Florida Marlins, Arizona Diamondbacks and Boston Red Sox. He played for the Marlins from 1995 - 1999, Diamondbacks from 1999 - 2004 and Red Sox in 2005. Over 10 seasons, he played games, won 14 games, struck out 396 batters, and had a 4.07 ERA. Born on July 7, 1973 in Tampa, FL, Mantei stands 6' 1" and weighs 181 lb. He attended River Valley (Three Oaks, MI) high school and was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 25th round of the 1991 amateur draft. His debut was on June 18, 1995 and he played his final game on July 1, 2005. Over his career, Mantei made $27,029,999.
