Mathieu Dandenault (full name: Mathieu Dandenault; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1996 until 2009 for the Detroit Red Wings and Montreal Canadiens. He played for the Red Wings from 1996 - 2004 and Canadies from 2006 - 2009. Over 13 seasons, he played 868 games, scored 68 goals, and made 135 assists. Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec on February 3, 1976, Dandenault stands 6-0 and weighs 208 lbs. He was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2nd round (49th overall) of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. Dandenault officially announced retirement on September 26, 2010.
