Mary Pierce is a proficient tennis athlete born in Montreal, Canada and is currently seen playing in the Women’s Tennis Association tour and as a representative of France for Olympic Games. She was trained by Jim Pierce, his father, who also established in her the sport and motivated her to join tennis competitions. As early as 12, she already had a national title after winning the 12-and-under category in United States. Because of her flawless skills in the sport, she entered professional play at 14 years, making her the youngest player from United States who became a pro.
She had his first Grand Slam singles win in 1995 against Aranxta Sanchez Vicario in the Australian Open and the next one came in 2000 when she won against Conchita Martinez in the French Open.
Together with teammates Mahesh Bhupati and Paul Hanley, she won the 2005 Wimbledon doubles championship. She holds 18 wins in the Women’s Tennis Association Tournaments, with her win against Francesca Schiavone as the latest which happened in October 2005. She has ten doubles win in the WTA tour and five Tier I singles wins. She had an injury in the 2006 season and was supposed to play in the 2008 Beijing Olympics; however, she had another injury. In total, she has a career record of 511-237 in singles tours and 197-116 in doubles.
