Marv Foley (full name: Marvis Edwin Foley; no nicknames) played catcher and pinch hitter from 1978 until 1984 for the Chicago White Sox and Texas Rangers. He played for the White Sox from 1978 - 1982 and Rangers in 1984. Over 5 seasons, he played 203 games, hit 12 home runs, drove in 37 runs, and stole 0 bases. Born on August 29, 1953 in Stanford, KY, Foley stands 6' 0" and weighs 195 lb. He attended high school and was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 17th round of the 1975 amateur draft. His debut was on September 11, 1978 and he played his final game on September 30, 1984. Common misspellings of his name include Marvis Edwin Marv merv Foley.
