Marty Perez is a former player in the Major League Baseball who appeared for five different teams in the league. He was born as Martin Roman Perez and hails from Visalia, California. He was born on February 28, 1947 and is a right-handed batter and thrower. He is listed at 5 ft. 11 in. and weighs 160 lbs. He started his professional career in 1964 when he was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels. He entered a deal with the team as an amateur free agent and spent his first few years as a professional player in the minor leagues. He appeared in his first game in the Major League Baseball on September 9, 1969 for the Angels. He spent two years with his parent team and afterwards played for the Atlanta Braves. He stayed with the Braves from 1971 through the 1976 season before moving to the san Francisco Giants in 1976. After a one-year stint with the Giants, he signed with the New York Yankees in 1977 and then became part of the Oakland Athletics in 1978.
He spent a total of ten seasons in the Major League Baseball and has played 931 games. He logged 3, 131 at bats and made 313 runs, with 241 runs batted in and .301 on-base percentage. He also recorded .246 batting average and had 989 total bases. He played as a second baseman and a third baseman for the teams he played for and sometimes played as a shortstop, too.
