 Martin Prado is a Major League Baseball second baseman who hails from Maracay, Venezuela. He started appearing in the major league on April 23, 2006 for his current team, the Atlanta Braves. He immediately posted a triple in his first game on the Major League Baseball and after that was sent to the minors. He played for the Richmond Braves which is the Triple-A team of the Atlanta Braves. After a short stint in the minors, he was assigned to play in the major league again.

 

Prado logged his first home run in the majors on September 14, 2006 in his team’s games against the Philadelphia Phillies. After a few stint in the minors, he was assigned to permanently appear for the majors on September 4, 2007. After his fellow Atlanta Braves athlete Kelly Johnson obtained an injury, Prado moved up to the starting second baseman position and stayed at the said post even after Kelly Johnson was able to play again for the team. He finished the 2007 season with 132 game appearances.

One of his remarkable performances in the majors was on May 10, 2010 when he managed to strike a grand slam in a game opposed the Milwaukee Brewers. He holds the highest number of hits in the Major League Baseball with 121 as of July 2010.
