About Mariano Rivera Autographed Magazines
Probably the best player to ever come out of Panama and step foot onto a baseball field is
New York Yankees reliever and closer
Mariano Rivera. Born and raised a Panamanian, he spoke no English whatsoever when he first debuted in the minor leagues in 1990. But whatever he lacked in words he more than made up for in action, snatching up no-hitters and impressive stats early on.
But it wasn’t until the early 90’s when he grabbed the attention of the Yankees’ management with a throw that went beyond 95 mph. It was a life-changing throw, one that kept him in the Yankees after what could have been an early boot, and one that Rivera attributed solely to God. With every game Rivera’s performance improved, which helped very much for the Yankees to win in the World Series of 1996. It was against the
Atlanta Braves and went down in history as the Yankees’ first ever win since 1978.
By 1998,
Mariano Rivera had learned to do a cut fastball which eventually became a signature throw of his, and a well-known one, as it did break bats at some instances. And by 1999 he made it to the All-Star team and was awarded as the World Series MVP. He was able to snag many more awards after that, and the championships as well in the 2000 World Series versus the
New York Mets.
Today Mariano Rivera’s record boasts of five World Series wins and three Delivery Man of the Year Awards, just to name a few. He continues to thrive on the field, and is now the first ever pitcher over 40 who has saved at least 40 games in one season.
