Marcus Camby was born in Hartford, Connecticut on March 22, 1974.
He is currently playing for the Denver Nuggets of the NBA as the center player. He was the Player of the Year in 1995-1996 in his college basketball career. Because of his leading, he brought numerous # 1 rankings to the team. Camby was chosen by the Toronto Raptors in 1996 prior to his senior years at the University of Massachusetts and became the second overall pick of the NBA Draft. He played previously for the Toronto Raptors in 1996 to 1998 and for the famous New York Knicks in 1998 to 2002. His constant injuries had bounded the achievements of his career and had a great impact in the NBA. Nevertheless, he successfully posted career highs in rebounds and steals in the 2005-06 season.
He was unfortunately caught in June 1997 in South Windsor, Connecticut by a police who is trying to stop him for a driving offense and was arrested only to find out marijuana in his car. In the exchange for his dismissal on July 1, 1997, he passively agreed to a plea. Camby completed sixteen hours of community service and was then dropped after. His passion and dedication for community outreach led him to establish a non profit organization in 1996. The organization was the Cambyland Youth Foundation that is aiming to provide opportunities for the young people.
