A former Major League Baseball infielder, Luis Beltran Sojo was born in Petare, Miranda State, Venezuela on January 3, 1965.
 
He is also a right-handed batter who played with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1990 and 1993; spend 2 years in California Angels in the year 1991 to 1992; he played with the Seattle Mariners in 1994 to 1996; almost 5 years with the New York Yankees in 1996 to 2001 and came back in the year 2003. And he also played with the Pittsburg Pirates in 2000. He turned from a role player to a World Series hero in October 2000, with the crucial Game 5 of the Subway Series that is against the New York Mets leading to the recognition of Luis Sojo game-used bat. He was able to obtain his fourth series ring and Yankees had won their 26th World Series and made the Luis Sojo game-used bat a valuable item.
 
He made his managerial debut in 2002 with the Yankees Double A affiliate Norwich Navigators. It has led the Yankees to its first Eastern League Championship. Sojo had experienced his distinctive year in 2003. He was invited to the Yankees Old Timers game after leaving the Navigators as a Yankees coach in position. The game had hit a game-winning home run off Ron Guidry. In history, Sojo may be the only Yankee over-al player that played in an Old Timers Game.

He played for the Jays from 1990 - 1993, Angels from 1991 - 1992, Mariners from 1994 - 1996, Yankees from 1996 - 2003 and Pirates in 2000. Over 13 seasons, he played 848 games, hit 36 home runs, drove in 300 runs, and stole 28 bases. Born on January 3, 1965 in Caracas, Distrito Federal, Venezuela, Sojo stands 5' 11" and weighs 172 lb. He attended Barquisimeto (Barquisimeto, VE) high school. His debut was on July 14, 1990 and he played his final game on September 28, 2003. Over his career, Sojo made $4,940,000.
