About Luis Rodriguez Memorabilia & Collectibles
Luis Orlando Rodriguez is originally from San Carlos, Cojedes St., Venezuela. He was born on June 27, 1980 and currently plays for the Chicago Whitesox as a shortstop. Rodiguez started in the major leagues with the Minnesota Twins in 2005, when Jason Bartlett, the rookie who took the starting position for the team at the time, started having problems at the shortstop position. Prior to that, he played Triple-A ball for the Rochester Red Wings, which is one of the oldest minor league teams in the history of any sport dating back to 1877.
Back then, Rodriguez primary role was second baseman. However, when called to duty, he also performed as a shortstop and third baseman in a number of games. He’s accredited to having an excellent and regular consistent hitting average, contributing greatly to his Rochester team. When he was called to play for the majors, Rodriguez’s hitting average was above stellar. In 2007, Rodriguez was the center of attention in the “Vote for L-Rod” campaign to elect him as the starting third baseman for MLB All-Star Game.
Rodriguez continued his MLB career with the San Diego Padres at the end of 2007, playing the first few months with the team’s Triple-A division, the Portland Beavers. His first appearance with the Padres was in July 2008. Rodriguez made a quick stint with the Cleveland Indians at the end of 2009, and signed with the Chicago White Sox in April of 2010.
