Born on June 21, 1978, on Chihuahua, Mexico, Luis Riverra is a Major League Baseball pitcher who is currently in camp with the New York Mets. As a player, he batted and threw with his right hand. He stands six feet and three inches and weights one hundred sixty three pounds. Before he was able to be signed as an undrafted free player by the Braves in the year 1995, he first attended Sistema Preparatoria Abierta in Telucha Mexico.

His professional career began when he played with the GCL Braves in the year 1996. He did not play for the American baseball by that time because he was in loan to the Tigres del Mexico. As he played with the GCL Braves in same year, he got a 2.59 ERA. In the year 1997, he played with the Danville Braves as the pitcher. He also played with the Macon Braves getting a combines 5-1 with an ERA of 3.98. In 62 over all innings, he had eighty four strikeouts and at least twenty four walks. In the year 1999, he was ranked as the 71st best prospect by Baseball America and the fourth best prospect in the organization of the Braves. In 2000, he became the 51st best prospect and the fifth best in the Braves organization. He started that year’s season with the Braves Opening Day roster, which made his debut in the big league. He played with the Rochester Red Wings and the Orioles until Orioles released him. After that, he played with the Mexican League up to now.
