Luis Arroyo (full name: Luis Enrique Arroyo; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1955 until 1963 for the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Redlegs and New York Yankees. He played for the Cardinals in 1955, Pirates from 1956 - 1957, Redlegs in 1959 and Yankees from 1960 - 1963. Over 8 seasons, he started 36 games, won 40 games, struck out 336 batters, and had a 3.93 ERA. Born on February 18, 1927 in Penuelas, P.R. (All Transactions), Arroyo stands 5' 8" and weighs 178 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on April 20, 1955 and he played his final game on May 28, 1963. Common misspellings of his name include Luis Enrique louie louis Luis Arroyo.
