About Luc Robitaille Memorabilia & Collectibles
Luc Robitaille played as a professional hockey player for the National Hockey League or NHL for 19 years. Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Robitaille was born on February 17, 1966. He played for 4 teams during his brilliant career; Los Angeles Kings, Pittsburg Penguins, New York Rangers, and the Detroit Red Wings. He spent fourteen years of his career with the Los Angeles Kings, where he served as team captain during the 1992-1993 and 2005-2006 seasons. Robitaille holds several of the Kings’ franchise records, and is the highest-scoring left winger in NHL history. He also holds a number of the Kings’ records in the playoffs.
Robataille began his impressive NHL career in 1986 with the Kings. In his first 8 years, he scored more than 40 goals per season, with a remarkable career-high of 63 goals. On July 29, 1994 Robitaille was traded to the Pittsburg Penguins for Rick Tocchet, where his scoring statistics began to drop compared to his previous years in the game. After one season with the Penguins, he was traded to the New York Rangers for the 1995-1996. During his time with the Rangers, his penalty minutes were greater than his goals! He was then reacquired by the Kings for the next 4 seasons, where he was able to return to his all-star form, scoring his 500th career goal on January 7, 1999. Attempting for the Stanley Cup Finals, Robitaille then signed a 2-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings in 2001 led by then team captain, Steve Yzerman, but were upset by Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. Robataille finished his career with the Kings and played his final game on April 17, 2006.
