Louis Williams is an American professional basketball athlete and currently playing as point guard for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball League. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee and graduated from South Gwinnett High school in Snellville, Georgia where he was a standout high school basketball player winning the 2005 Naismith Prep Player of the Year.
Williams began his pro basketball career after being drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers during the round two pick of the 2005 NBA Draft. After joining the 76ers in 2005, Williams joined what is now a defunct team of the NBA Development League minor league basketball expansion team, the Fort Worth Flyers, in 2006. During the 2005–06 seasons, Williams had been used scarcely as an NBA rookie, averaging roughly two points over thirty games
The following season, after being inactive in the first few months of the 2006–07 season, Williams was sent by the 76ers to play for what is now a defunct NBA Development League minor league basketball expansion team, the Fort Worth Flyers, on November 28,. 2006. After his amazing performances in the NBA D-League, averaging twenty six points and seven assists over three games, Williams was reinstated back to the 76ers roster on December 2006. At the end of the 2008 seasons, Williams became free agent, and then re-signed a five year deal with the 76ers.
